The game industry hates used game sales--absolutely detests them. Why? Because they don't see a single dime from the sale of a used game.
There's a rumor floating about that Sony is attempting to sell licenses to games, rather than the game itself. It isn't true (at least not yet), as its feasibility is fairly low.
Although I see some problem with the used game industry (for example, as
Tim points out, some used dealers will sale used video games for only 3-5 dollars off the sticker price), licensing games will destroy my chances of finding a game like Breath of Fire IV, which was a limited release Playstation game.
Truthfully, I think the entire argument is moot anyways. Sony is self-destructing. They want $600 for their console and then they want $60 a game - frankly their blood is too rich for mine.
