I have two-dollar bills, and I hate them.

Once again, representatives prove they have it better than the common folk. For example, take Foley, who has just recently resigned for improper e-mail conversations to a sixteen-year old page.

The contents of these e-mails are not improper, they are illegal. A common pedophile would have already been picked up and imprisoned. However, in 2005, when the "improper" e-mails were brought to the attention of Rep. John Shimkus he only launched an investigation which concluded in warning Foley to elimate all contact with the page. He didn't deign it necessary to report it to the proper authorities, who deal with such illicit activity.

Alas.

A marshmallow machine gun has its uses.

To cut costs this year, Yahoo is shutting down its offices for one week, between Christmas and New Years. Daniel Gross, from Slate, has some reasons why this is a fairly idiotic way to cut costs:

1. Unpaid time during the holidays puts a heavy financial burden on employees during a time when spending is increased.

2. Competitors of Yahoo! will most likely be giving their employees bonuses.

3. Cutting costs by attacking employees alone drops morale, and leaves them open to finding a job elsewhere.

Finally, he points out Yahoo is trying to buy FaceBook for quite a bit of money. So, rather than pay its employees, its going to buy a social website.

He also describes some cost-cutting techniques of Credit Suisse and Ford. And corporations wonder why loyalty is so low.

And then there was darkness...

Nancy Yi Fan is thirteen years old and author of the fantasy novel Swordbird, to be published by HarperCollins in China and then throughout the world. She began writing the book at the ripe age of eleven.

I'm wondering if it will be any good, or if its just a PR stunt to launch HarperCollins new business in China. I guess the book will tell... of course, one wonders how much of the work is hers and how much of the work is the editors.

Don't die.

Cups are your friends.

Holy crapola! Some PS3 games will debut at $75 in Japan.

Yeah. So, uhm. Yeah. Should those prices reflect USA prices, then expect me not to be buying. Expecially since the games suspected of debuting at that price will be Final Fantasy and DragonQuest games. I thought XBOX 360 was asking a lot at $59 since I can still buy computer games for $49 (and, if one can wait about two weeks $29-39).

Don't die.
