I am but the firefly.

Oddly, one of the most heartwarming stories in movie cinema is also one of my new favorites. Little Miss Sunshine is a brilliant movie. Every character shines.

Greg Kinnear plays a man obsessed with winning, and has a nine step program for you to always win. Steve Carell is a gay Proust scholar who just before the start of the movie attempted suicide. Toni Collette is the mother almost pushed to the edge by her "must win" husband, heroin addicted father-in-law, and a son who hasn't spoken in nine months.Paul Dano is the afore mentioned son - a follow of Nihilism who aptly writes "I hate everyone." Abigail Breslin is the reason for the title of the movie - with a twist of fate, she was chosen to represent her area in the Little Miss Sunshine competition. One look at her, and you'll know she isn't model material. Finally, Alan Arkin plays grandfather, addicted to heroin and recently kicked out of his retirement home.

Stuff all of them into a van which slowly falls apart around them, and you have one of the most dysfunctional families on the oddest road trip ever. Its a must see.

Don't die.
