I control the news.

Newt Gingrich's defense of the recent page scandal: The Democrats have done far worse.

Unfortunately, Gingrich, the morality of our politicians is bankrupt. Too much money and too much power has shriveled their ability to differentiate from doing the right thing and committing wrong.

Every Republican and every Democrat should be behind the effort to prosecute Representative Foley to the fullest extent of the law.

To protect the interest of a party, to keep control of power, our representatives are willing to hide the facts and or endlessly debate the extent of punishment. I have an answer for them: the punishment for a politician should be the same punishment delivered to a common US citizen. Anyone trying to withold/hide evidence to protect the party, should be prosecuted for withholding evidence.

So, Newt, your defense isn't a defense. It lessens yourself, and it lessens your party. Show me you can cut away those who do illegal activities. Don't defend their actions, in hopes of saving a few votes come election time, because, frankly, it doesn't work.

Don't die.
