The homeless problem just isn't going to solve itself, you know.
President Bush needs to re-evaluate his morality. Let's examine a statement he made today:
"If there's any comparison between the compassion and decency of the American people and the terrorist tactics of extremists, it's flawed logic.
It's just -- I simply can't accept that.
It's unacceptable to think that there's any kind of comparison between the behavior of the United States of America and the action of Islamic extremists who kill innocent women and children to achieve an objective."
IBC (Iraq Body Count) estimates that there have been a minumum of 43145 civilians killed in the war in Iraq. The organization estimates a maximum body count of 47921. These were the numbers at 1:30 CST today (I'm sure the numbers are higher on their webpage now). Many of these civilians, some of which were women and children, were killed by US soldiers in order to achieve an objective.
In war, civilians die, and die, and die to achieve objectives. The only argument one could make is most US soldiers do not intend to kill innocent civilians, where-as the terrorists on 9/11 knew the World Trade Center only had civilians within it. I stress "most" in the previous sentence because some US soldiers have been under investigation for killing unarmed, non-military targets. Now, philosphy afficianado's can argue whether a good intention which has bad results (say, attempting to destroy a military bunker of terrorists which kills innocent civilians because the missile missed its intended target) is more moral than someone with bad intention which has bad results (say, terrorists bombing the world trade center).
I'm sure there's more in President Bush's speech, but I haven't completly gone through it.
Don't die.
